Meet your instructor
My name is Angela, and I am a survivor, a healer, and the voice behind Survivors Finding Light.
This space was not created from theory. It was created from lived experience. Survivors Finding Light exists because healing is possible. Your voice matters. Your story matters. You deserve support, understanding, and light.
There was a time in my life when everything I thought was safe became unfamiliar. Fear, loss, and trauma have a way of isolating you—of convincing you that no one could possibly understand what you carry. Healing did not happen overnight. It came in quiet moments, in difficult therapy sessions, in learning to sit with pain instead of running from it. It came through EMDR therapy, through the Safe Place Protocol, and through the slow, courageous process of rebuilding a life that once felt broken.
What I discovered along the way is this: healing is possible. Not because the past disappears—but because you become stronger than the darkness that once surrounded you.
My professional background includes serving as a Military Services Worker with the American Red Cross, where I supported service members and their families through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. That experience deepened my understanding of trauma, grief, resilience, and the extraordinary strength people carry within them—even when they don’t realize it yet.
Survivors Finding Light was created with one simple purpose: to reach the person who feels alone.
The one who is quietly surviving.
The one who is healing in silence.
The one who wonders if they will ever feel safe, whole, or themselves again.
This space exists to remind you that you are not broken. You are not weak. You are not alone.
Here, you will find stories, resources, and reflections grounded in empathy, truth, and hope. Nothing shared here replaces professional or emergency support—but it serves as a reminder that light still exists, even after the darkest nights.
If this space reaches even one person who feels less alone, then it has fulfilled its purpose.
And if that person is you, welcome. You are safe here.
